 The IJEHR story

Dear reader,

The International Journal of Ethnic Health Research (IJEHR) warmly welcomes you.

The IJEHR, also fondly called Metromedical, a moniker that reflects the city from which the first editorial council  was borne, presents a platform that focuses on the health-related issues of  diverse populations from across the world. The idea of this international journal emerged during the throes of the first wave of the COVID pandemic, which highlighted several blindspots in the global health sector, from variance in disease predilections of different age groups, ethnicities, job sectors and socio-economic classes to the realisation and increased acceptance of mental-health and well being. Unlike other infectious diseases of recent times, this viral phenomenon did not require journeying to remote parts of the world to tackle it. Among the lessons learnt was that a new approach had to be taken to global health - and research to underpin new learning is vital to the healthcare's success and preparedness against global health assaults.

We are committed to supporting research by publishing high quality research and academic articles, and in conducting independent research. We look forward to supporting researchers in getting their work publicised in relevant spaces and internationally.

Yours sincerely,

Dr M. Williams

Editor-in Chief
